The CPL8100C/D series products are current probes capable of measuring both DC and AC currents. They are industry-unique instruments that combine oscilloscope probes and clamp meters into one device. They can display the effective value of current directly without connecting to any equipment, and they can also be connected to an oscilloscope to measure waveforms. The display accuracy of the clamp meter function is up to 4.5 digits. They feature a dual power supply system with both battery and USB, which is a unique innovation in the industry.
The CPL8100C/D can measure currents up to 100A peak (70.7A RMS). The CPL8100C has a bandwidth of 600kHz (-3dB), while the CPL8100D has a bandwidth of 2MHz (-3dB). Two range options are provided (10A and 100A ranges), allowing selection of the appropriate range according to the current magnitude. They have an auto zero function for ease of use, power and low battery indicators, and an overload alarm sound. Power can be supplied either by batteries or an external power source, making measurement more convenient. A standard BNC output interface allows easy connection to oscilloscopes and other equipment. A BNC to dual banana plug adapter can be used to measure AC and DC currents with a multimeter. The LCD display shows DC to 400Hz effective values. These devices are commonly used in situations such as power frequency measurements, motor drives, and power supplies.
