PD-200X Overview (V2.0).pdf
High-voltage differential probe with ultra-high bandwidth and high common-mode rejection ratio Wide bandwidth DC - 400MHz/500MHz
BumbleBee® is a 400 MHz, 2 kV CAT III high-voltage, differential probe, that can be used with any oscilloscope or device providing 50 Ω termination.
The PMK Bumblebee is a high-performance high-voltage differential probe designed for high-precision measurement and suitable for high-voltage circuits, industrial equipment, and laboratory environments. It is known for its high bandwidth, low input capacitance, and multiple attenuation ratio options, and it also supports software control, further improving measurement flexibility and accuracy.

Key features:
1. Bandwidth up to 400 MHz
The bandwidth of the PMK Bumblebee reaches 400 MHz, enabling accurate measurement in high-frequency environments and suitable for analysis of complex power grids or high-frequency signals. Its high-bandwidth performance makes it perform well in industrial control and communication systems, capable of capturing rapidly changing voltage signals and ensuring measurement accuracy.
2. Low input capacitance
The probe's input capacitance to ground is 5 pF, and its differential input capacitance is 2.5 pF. These extremely low input capacitance values greatly reduce the influence on the measurement circuit, reduce signal interference, and improve system sensitivity and accuracy. The low capacitance values enable the probe to better respond to high-frequency signals and ensure measurement accuracy in high-voltage environments.
3. Multiple attenuation ratio options
The PMK Bumblebee is equipped with four attenuation ratios: 50:1, 100:1, 250:1, and 500:1, with corresponding measurement ranges of 200 V, 400 V, 1000 V, and 2000 V, respectively. This multi-ratio design enables the probe to adapt to high-voltage measurement requirements at different ranges, allowing users to flexibly select the range according to the actual application scenario and reducing the complexity of the measurement system.
4. Adjustable DC offset function
The probe has an OFFSET function and supports a DC offset voltage of ±4 V. Users can adjust the offset value through software to ensure zero-point calibration of the measurement circuit. This function is particularly suitable for high-voltage circuits requiring precise measurement and can effectively eliminate measurement
5. Software control function
The attenuation ratio and offset (bias) function of the PMK Bumblebee can both be controlled through software. Users can easily set probe parameters via the configuration software, such as selecting the attenuation ratio level and offset voltage. This programmable capability makes the probe more flexible and suitable for different measurement scenarios, further improving measurement efficiency.
6. Extensive configurations and front-end design
The Bumblebee probe has multiple front-end configurations, including alligator clips, test hooks, and test clips. In addition, there is a uniquely designed adapter front end that can effectively avoid the power supply loss problem that may be caused by traditional alligator-clip grounding methods. In high-voltage circuits, traditional alligator-clip grounding may cause power supply current leakage, especially at extremely high voltages, which may damage the power supply or even cause safety hazards. Through its front-end design, the Bumblebee probe can ensure safe grounding while effectively preventing power supply current leakage, ensuring the safety of the measurement process and the reliability of the power supply.
This design not only improves the safety of the probe but also further enhances its applicability in high-voltage environments. Especially in measurement scenarios involving high-voltage circuits or high-voltage equipment, the performance of the Bumblebee probe can be better utilized.
As a high-performance high-voltage differential probe, the PMK Bumblebee is an ideal choice for high-voltage measurement due to its excellent performance and flexible application scenarios. Whether for power systems, industrial equipment, or laboratory research, the PMK Bumblebee can provide users with high-precision, reliable measurement results, supporting more efficient work and research.
______________________________________________________
The differential amplification principle of a high-voltage differential probe means that a pair of signals is input simultaneously into the amplifier circuit and then subtracted to obtain the original signal. A differential amplifier is an amplifier formed by two transistors with identical parameter characteristics in a direct-coupled configuration.
If signals with the same amplitude and same phase are input to the two input terminals respectively, the output is zero, thereby overcoming zero drift. An excellent differential probe must be able to effectively suppress common-mode signals and effectively amplify differential-mode signals.
However, in practice, under high-voltage floating conditions with large common-mode noise, test probes are usually required to simultaneously meet high withstand voltage, high-speed response, and high common-mode rejection ratio, for example, when evaluating the high-side Vge or Vce of SiC or GaN devices in a half-bridge;
The PMK Bumblebee is one of the few solutions that can meet the test requirements.
