Hangzhi Hall-effect type fluxgate current sensor HIT series (0.05% high-precision)

Brand: Hangzhi

Origin: China

Isolated Current Probe. Detailed specifications are available in the product datasheet.
Overview

The HIT series Hall-effect replacement current sensors are based on fluxgate technology and use excitation closed-loop control technology, self-excited demagnetization technology, and multi-loop control methods in the electronic circuit. Their sensing function can completely replace that of Hall-effect current sensors, while their measurement accuracy and performance are far superior to the latter.

Product advantages:

The Hangzhi HIT series fluxgate current sensors are Hall-effect replacement fluxgate current sensors launched by Hangzhi. This series is benchmarked against closed-loop Hall-effect current sensors and competes directly with them in performance. HIT series sensors achieve accuracy up to 0.05%, whereas closed-loop Hall-effect current sensors achieve only 0.2%; in terms of bandwidth, HIT series sensors reach above 500 kHz, at least 5 times higher than closed-loop Hall-effect current sensors. They are also miniaturized, with the same interface and volume as Hall-effect current sensors. Models in this series include HIT50, HIT100, HIT200, HIT300, HIT500, and HIT600, and can measure DC, AC, and pulsed currents from 50 A to 600 A.

Application areas:

1. Ground vehicle power supply systems
• Detection and control of the output current of a ground vehicle power supply system directly determine the stability and reliability of the power supply system's operation and affect the operating conditions of the vehicle's electrical loads and the vehicle's operability. Because vehicle power supply loads often vary widely due to complex vehicle operating conditions, the output power of the power supply also changes considerably. If the output current of the power supply is not limited, the power supply will overheat due to overload, affecting its power output; in severe cases, it can also cause permanent failure of the power supply.
• The application of Hall-effect replacement current sensors in vehicle power supply systems enables isolated measurement of the power supply system output current; that is, the sensor output signal is fully electrically isolated from the power supply output current, which facilitates adjustment and processing of the sensor output signal. By adjusting and setting this signal, the power supply system output current is feedback-controlled. When the power supply output current approaches the designed power output of the power supply system, the power supply output current no longer increases, thereby limiting the power supply system output power and protecting the power supply system from damage due to changes in electrical loads.
2. Application in variable-frequency drives
• As economic reform continues to deepen, energy saving and consumption reduction have become one of the important means of reducing production costs and improving product quality, and variable-frequency speed control technology meets the requirements of industrial production automation development and has opened a new era of intelligent motors. At present, this technology has been practically applied in motor drive equipment in many industries such as power, metallurgy, petrochemical, papermaking, food, and textiles, and has become a major development direction of modern electric drive technology. Using variable-frequency drives to control motors for speed regulation can save more than 10% of electrical energy.
• Due to their excellent characteristics, the HIT Hall-effect replacement current sensor series are increasingly selected by variable-frequency drive manufacturers as components for electrical parameter monitoring.

3. Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
• In a complete battery management system, it is usually necessary to measure the internal resistance, temperature, and voltage of individual cells, as well as the current of the battery string. Measuring the battery string current is particularly important because the battery management system needs to use the current direction to determine the system's charge/discharge state and then stop or start internal resistance measurement. However, the battery charge/discharge current has a very wide dynamic range: there are milliampere-level float charging currents, charging currents of tens of amperes, and discharge currents of hundreds of amperes. To date, among existing current monitoring solutions, most use Hall-effect current sensors to measure current. However, because Hall-effect current sensors are not sensitive enough, measurement error is relatively large at small currents. As a result, end users often complain that when the load is completely disconnected, the monitoring system still displays a current of several amperes, leaving battery manufacturers unable to explain it clearly to customers. This is caused by the large and unstable zero-point error of Hall-effect current sensors.
• Based on a thorough understanding of battery charging and discharging, Hangzhi developed the HIT series current sensors using advanced fluxgate technology. Because this series uses advanced fluxgate technology, the magnetic core is complete without flux leakage, and the ultra-high sensitivity meets the requirements for measuring small float charging currents, enabling the sensors to accurately measure an ultra-wide range from tens of milliamperes to hundreds of amperes and to achieve relatively complete monitoring of battery charge/discharge currents.
4. Inverter power supplies
• Because they use the fluxgate principle, HIT series current sensors have ultra-low temperature drift and zero drift, giving this series much higher accuracy than current sensors based on the ordinary Hall principle and reaching the industry's highest accuracy of 0.05%, about two orders of magnitude higher. It should be emphasized that this 0.05% accuracy specification is the maximum error over the full range and full temperature range (-40 to +85°C).
• HIT series high-precision current sensors are well suited for current feedback in high-precision power supplies, solar inverters, and wind inverters. The excellent temperature characteristics and ultra-low zero drift characteristic unique to high-precision HIT series current sensors not only ensure current measurement accuracy but also greatly reduce the harmful DC component in the inverter output current, thereby protecting grid transformer safety to a greater extent and helping users convert a harmful DC component of more than 0.5% into useful power output, reducing harm while increasing benefits.
