IWATSU Electric Co., Ltd. is a long-established Japanese test-and-measurement manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo. The company designs and builds oscilloscopes, high-voltage differential probes, pulse generators and related instrumentation that are widely used in power-electronics development, semiconductor evaluation and industrial R&D. History

Founded in 1944, Iwatsu grew together with Japan's electronics industry, first in communications equipment and later in electronic measurement. Over the decades the company introduced a series of analogue and digital oscilloscopes for the domestic and export markets. Its high-voltage differential probe families, including the well-known ADP series, became de-facto reference tools for measuring switching waveforms on motor drives, inverters and converters where large ground-potential differences make ordinary probes unusable.

Strengths

Three strengths define the brand. First, probe front-end design: Iwatsu differential probes combine wide bandwidth with very high CMRR at practical switching frequencies, together with generous input voltage ranges and accessories for safe connection to busbars, IGBT and SiC modules.
