Company Overview
North Star High Voltage is an American manufacturer of high-voltage probes, dividers and related instrumentation. Its PVM and DVM probe families are staples in power-electronics, plasma, pulsed-power and utility laboratories wherever DC, AC or fast-pulse voltages from a few kilovolts to beyond one hundred kilovolts must be measured safely and accurately.
History
The company grew from high-voltage engineering practice, developing voltage probes with balanced divider networks, insulation systems and guarding that preserve accuracy at extreme voltages. Over the years North Star probes have been specified into utility substations, accelerator facilities and many generations of inverter and converter test rigs.
Strengths
North Star focuses on voltage measurement exclusively, which shows in the details: stable resistor chains, low-capacitance designs that minimise circuit loading, robust physical construction and clear safety documentation. Probes are supplied with calibration certificates, and the model range spans bandwidths and voltage classes so users can match probe to circuit precisely.
